So about us…

Healthy Tasmania was created by sisters Lucy Byrne and Penny Terry.

After a childhood spent on a farm in beautiful Northern Tasmania, they each took off to 'the mainland', explored life overseas and then moved back home to live, learn and work.

During that time, Lucy fostered the more analytical side of her brain, while Penny fell deeply into her creative side.

Then, after two very separate careers (and over a glass of wine), they decided to combine their brains (and skill sets) and founded their multi-award-winning ‘for-purpose’ business, Healthy Tasmania Pty Ltd.

How our work has evolved

For close to ten years, Lucy and Penny worked together developing and delivering community health and wellbeing programs.

Along the way, something interesting happened. More and more people started wanting to know how they worked. They wanted to understand how Lucy and Penny built partnerships, made decisions, shared stories, designed programs, cut through systems and communicated clearly under pressure.

So their work naturally shifted.

Today, their focus is on capacity building through training, facilitation, mentoring, speaking, authoring and advisory services. Healthy Tasmania supports the leaders and teams who are shaping healthy, connected and community-led futures.

We’re a small team with a big heart, proudly based in Tasmania and working with organisations across Australasia who are trying to make a positive dent in the world.

Meet the team…

LUCY BYRNE

Her in-depth experience as a non-executive board director has shown her that having a solid strategic plan and effective corporate governance is always a good place to start.

Lucy loves working with our clients as she turns problems into plans, competition into collaboration, and plans into successful projects.
